WellPoint and Blue Shield of California to stop dropping sick policyholders
WellPoint Inc., the parent of Anthem Blue Cross of California, and Blue Shield of California say they will stop the practice known as rescission, of dropping sick policyholders. Even before Tuesday's announcements, however, state records show that health insurers in California had all but stopped the number of policy cancellations.
