Average age of U.S. cars hits record high
According to Polk, the average age of U.S. cars reached 10.8 in 2011 showing a slight increase from 10.6 in 2010. This report is based on an analysis of national vehicle registration data. Since dropping collision and comprehensive lowers car insurance rates, it makes sense for owners to merely keep liability insurance on older cars.
