Hybrid cars safer than gas cars, but not for pedestrians
According to an industry research, hybrid cars are safer for owners and passengers, but more dangerous for pedestrians. Hybrid cars are safer for owner and passengers because the odds of injury in a crash in a hybrid car are 25 percent lower than in conventional cars. A hybrid car has the advantage of higher weight which allows it to push the lighter one backward on impact and thus better protect people in the hybrid. However, a hybrid is harder to hear and pedestrians may step into the road if without checking to see if car is coming. Hybrid insurance rates are generally higher than rates for the conventional ones.
