The health insurance plight of part-time workers

The Nation's largest private employer, Wal-Mart, announced last Friday that it would end the part-time workers health benefits which started since 1996 and would not offer it to new part-time employees. According to Kaiser Family Foundation, only 16 percent of employers offer health insurance to part-timers, and 42 percent among large employers. Part-time employees are defined as those who work less than 30 hours per week and they can resolve to purchase it in the coming individual health exchange market according to Obama's new healthcare reform.
