Most baby boomers baffled by Medicare plans
Over the next 20 years, an average of 10,000 baby boomers a day will turn 65 and become eligible for Medicare. According to a new survey released by the National Council on Aging and United Healthcare, more than half of Americans age 60 and over find Medicare confusing or don't understand it at all. It also showed seniors have a poor understanding of changes to Medicare this year that are a result of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Only 12 percent said they have an excellent or good understanding of the law. Starting this year, the annual enrollment period for Medicare begins Oct. 15 and ends Dec. 7.
