Here we summarize a list of Southern California’s top hospitals which also happen to be on Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade’s recent release of a list of A-rated hospitals.

We will also discuss which health insurance plans within these hospitals allow you to enjoy the highest quality medical services in the United States!

In the U.S., it can be a bit of a hassle trying to get a blood test, an x-ray, or even medication. You have to get referrals from your doctor, and regardless of how minor or how serious your sickness is, you’re constantly making calls and traveling to places back and forth.

What’s even more troublesome is that every doctor, medical network, and hospital only accepts certain health insurance plans. If you go to the wrong place, the insurance might not cover what you need and you’d have to pay out of your pocket. Here, we discuss the top hospitals and the health plans they accept.

Kaiser Permanente has consecutively been in the top rankings. Many of the patients in our Chinese community might be more used to Kaiser because it has its own insurance system and general hospital. This means that even with an HMO plan, your referrals would be within Kaiser which would save a lot of time. If you want to get an x-ray, blood tests, or medication, they can all be done in one place! Since everything is in one, it is less likely for errors to occur when it comes to insurance billing.

This year, Kaiser has created more services in regards to the Chinese community. They have physicians, specialists, obstetricians, and gynecologists who speak Chinese in their Baldwin Park, Sand Canyon, and Diamond Bar locations, and many more. They also started accepting new patients this year!

Arcadia’s Methodist Hospital and Pasadena’s Huntington Hospital are well known in the Chinese community—not only for their high quality of care but also for their beautiful, fancy, and relaxing aesthetics.

You might be thinking, this hospital is so amazing… the insurance plan must be expensive! But actually, it isn’t! L.A. Care has the second lowest premiums in Southern California. It has contracts with Methodist Hospital, Huntington Hospital, and the high quality Healthcare Partners as well. It is also a nonprofit organization!

The one with the lowest premiums is Molina Healthcare, which has contracts with Methodist Hospital and Keck Hospital of USC.

And of course, we can’t forget about the leading Anthem Blue CrossIt has contracts with Huntington Hospital, USC, and UCLA, but its premiums are the most expensive!

Since it is currently the 2017 Open Enrollment Period, we at KCAL Insurance Agency would like to remind you that when you’re changing plans, make sure that the doctors you want to see and the hospitals you want to go to are within your insurance company’s contract.
